Abdominoplasty, commonly referred to as a tummy tuck, is a surgical procedure designed to remove excess skin and fat from the abdominal area, resulting in a tighter, firmer, and flatter stomach. Performed under general anaesthetic, our skilled surgeons not only eliminate excess skin and fat but also tighten the abdominal muscles, addressing conditions like diastasis recti.
Over time, ageing and weight fluctuations can lead to weakened abdominal muscles and loose skin around the stomach. A tummy tuck offers a highly effective solution for regaining a toned and slimmer appearance that cannot be achieved through diet and exercise alone. This procedure strengthens and contours the abdominal wall, providing a more defined and aesthetically pleasing look.
For many men in London, a tummy tuck is about restoring their shape and boosting their confidence. It’s important to understand that this is not a weight-loss procedure. Therefore, achieving your target weight before undergoing abdominoplasty is recommended for optimal results.
Often, tummy tucks are combined with liposuction to further slim the waist and back, enhancing the overall contour and shape of your body.
As a highly trained London-based plastic surgeon dedicated to excellence, I meticulously approach each tummy tuck procedure, considering your unique anatomy and individual goals. My objective is to enhance your self-esteem by achieving a flatter, firmer, and more muscular abdomen.
I have held esteemed positions as a consultant plastic surgeon within the NHS, including serving as the head of the plastic surgery department at Imperial Healthcare Trust in London. My unwavering commitment to safety and excellence has earned the trust of my patients, as evidenced by consistent 5-star reviews.
A tummy tuck is carried out under general anaesthetic and typically lasts 2- 3 hours.
You will require an overnight stay in hospital to reduce the chance of a deep vein thrombosis.
If you have liposuction carried out at the time of the tummy tuck, you will require a drain. This is usually removed 3 – 5 days after your surgery in London.
There are several different types of tummy tuck and I will advise you on the best one for you during your consultation.
